MEMORY LAG
SOLO EXHIBITION: JUNG YEON BAE
On View: October 17 - 31, 2026
Opening: October 17, 4-6pm
“Memory Lag” reflects on the delayed arrival of memory and emotion.
For artist Jung Yeon Bae, memories are experiences that do not always “arrive on time.” Returning long after an event has passed, memories arise, carrying new meanings and evolved reflections. The exhibition considers the space between experiencing a moment and only later understanding its emotional significance.
With color and texture, Bae transforms fleeting impressions into fragments that can be revisited. From the wildflowers waving in the green field, the yellow bench underneath the massive tree, her works capture moments that may initially seem distant or unresolved, allowing them to reemerge with a different emotional weight.

For Jung Yeon Bae, memory follows its own rhythm, sometimes requiring time before its significance becomes fully understood.
“Memory Lag” invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with memory - the places, sensations, and experiences that continue to surface long after they have seemingly passed. In Bae’s work, distance becomes a space for reflection, where longing, beauty, and understanding gradually catch up with the present.
